Reporting to the Facilities and Utilities Manager, the Utilities, Facilities, and Energy Engineer will be responsible for the engineering oversight, management, and continuous improvement of the site utilities, facilities, and energy management systems at both Blarney and Carrigtwohill sites as required. This includes ensuring business continuity, maintaining audit readiness, and implementing systemized structures for success in energy performance, including ESIGHT and compliance with ISO 50001 standards.
Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the engineering management and technical operations of utilities, energy, and facilities infrastructure across the assigned sites, ensuring reliable and cost‑efficient systems performance.
Oversee the site’s energy management program, including usage monitoring, reporting, and initiatives using ESIGHT software and ISO 50001 framework.
Develop and implement processes and organizational structures to ensure operational success and continuous improvement in utilities and energy management.
Utilize SAP PM and other systems to manage maintenance activities, asset records, and audit‑ready documentation.
Drive and support projects focused on utilities upgrades, energy efficiency, sustainability, and facilities modernization.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders such as Production, Maintenance, EHS, Quality, and external contractors to ensure effective delivery and compliance.
Manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers and technicians to meet department objectives.
Ensure compliance with internal and external audits related to utilities, energy management, and facilities operations.
Analyze site energy consumption patterns and identify opportunities to optimize usage and reduce costs.
Troubleshoot complex utility and energy system issues employing root cause analysis and engineering best practices.
Support budget planning related to utilities and energy operations, including capital and operational expenditures.
Oversee contracts management associated with utilities and facilities services, ensuring best value and performance outcomes.

Experience & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in Mechanical, Electrical, Energy, Chemical Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline. Master’s degree or certifications in energy management are advantageous.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical engineering environment with a focus on utilities, facilities, and energy systems management.
Strong knowledge of utilities infrastructure and energy management systems including ESIGHT and ISO 50001 standards.
Experience with SAP PM or similar Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Proven project management and multi‑site operations experience.
Familiarity with GMP, EHS, and quality regulations in a regulated industry.
