We are hiring a Tax and Compliance Manager on a part-time basis to join our internal tax function reporting to the Head of Partnership Tax Affairs. This role is based in our Dublin office and will focus on maintaining tax compliance and Irish and UK tax filing requirements. You may choose a hybrid and flexible working pattern.The team is responsible for ensuring compliance with all tax filing and payment obligations, identifying and mitigating any tax risks, preparing and maintaining tax analyses and technical papers to support the tax filings in the event of any challenge during a tax audit, liaising with HR and Finance on any tax and payroll queries, providing advice and support to the firm in dealing with queries from tax authorities, and reviewing the correctness of transfer pricing arrangements and ensuring compliance.The successful candidate will be comfortable with reviewing and analysing large data sets, working on continuous improvement projects and likely to come from an accounting background with good tax knowledge.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role you willComplete a monthly review of travel and other costs to identify any items subject to BIK;Liaise with Finance and IT to devise, test and implement systems changes to streamline the BIK review process;Assist with Irish and UK tax filings include PAYE Settlement Agreements;Lead or support, as appropriate, specific projects or systems enhancements that are managed by the Finance or Internal Tax teams and that require tax input;Liaise with Finance and HR when employees go on secondment to the US and UK to ensure that all required PAYE and social security applications are complete, so that the secondees seamlessly and correctly transition to a new payroll;Review invoices to ensure that these have issued from the correct jurisdiction and that they include all required details, and assist and train the billing specialists on UK invoicing requirements; andReconcile the UK VAT return quarterly.Required Skills and QualificationsYou are a qualified tax professional and / or accountant with a minimum of 3 PQE;You display strong IT skills, are an expert Excel user and can demonstrate experience of system implementation;A high level of attention to detail and analytical and reconciliation skills;You demonstrate an excellent knowledge of tax compliance, particularly PAYE;You are very organised with the ability to prioritise tasks, work on own initiative and multitask;You are self-driven with a demonstrable commitment to continuous improvement and best practice;You have experience of working in a large corporate environment; andYou display an enthusiastic, positive attitude and a strong work ethic.Why join MathesonAt Matheson you have the opportunity to work with exceptional people and a broad range of high calibre domestic and international clients.
