We have a fantastic opportunity for a Technical Business Analyst with at least 3 years' experience to join the team at Mediolanum in Dublin. You will work within the IT department, analyzing, defining and documenting business requirements for data and analytics projects and change initiatives that support and contribute to the company's growth. Principal Duties of the position, including but not limited to:
* Conduct effective workshops to elicit detailed business requirements from a end-users and stakeholders working in Investments, Risk, Product, Finance and Operations business teams.
* Analyse current business processes and data flows to identify inefficiencies or gaps, and how these could be overcome with AI or other technologies available.
* Develop a deep understanding of business area(s) and assist the business stakeholders in the prioritization and phasing of requirements within a project.
* Ensure a common understanding and quality of deliverables with business requirements through consultation, review and sign-off with SMEs.
* Document and validate clear high-level and detailed requirements gathered in workshops in standard documentation templates including business requirement documents and requirement analysis spreadsheets.
* Translate business requirements into data requirements and collaborate with engineering and data analysts to identify where requirements can be met with available data, or if new data needs to be acquired.
* Work collaboratively within an agile team, taking initiative to lead and drive activities towards successful delivery.
* Support engineering, data analytics and data governance teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutions. Review delivery team output to ensure requirements are accurately interpreted.
* Support production of test plans, test conditions, test scripts, and participate in the running of coordinated system tests and user acceptance testing.
* Ensure compliance with architecture and data governance standards related to the data modelling, data acquisition and data glossary.
* Maintain centralized knowledge repositories to capture and share insights on solutions and products delivered.
Skills and Competencies:
* High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word and Power Point
* End-users experience using SQL, relational databases and/or PowerBI a distinct advantage. Familiarity with Python preferred.
* Good knowledge of business analysis and project management processes and methodologies (Waterfall/Agile).
* Demonstrated use of AI technologies to gain operational efficiencies.
* Ability to work autonomously, take initiative, and be highly motivated to translate complex, unstructured ideas into executable plans.
* Analytical mindset, capable of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication skills and hands-on Stakeholder Management experience.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Educated to Degree Level in a relevant technical discipline with adequate business experience or hold a Business degree with adequate technical experience.
* 3+ years' experience in a Business Analyst role performed as part of transformation project or as a member of an IT solution delivery team.
* 2+ years' experience in Financial Services but not necessarily in Funds, Asset Management and/or Life Insurance.
