Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT) : Part-time Personal Care Assistant needed based in Lucan
Áiseanna Tacaíochta (ÁT) provides leadership and support to people with disabilities to live with the independence, choice and freedom they are entitled to. For the first time in Ireland, we facilitate Direct Payments to people with disabilities, enabling them to take control of their own budgets, their own services and, ultimately, their own lives.
The Personal Care Assistant is required to assist a man who has a high-level spinal cord injury within his home. The successful candidates will receive training and development in line with the role. This role is suitable for highly motivated and reliable individual who is committed provide care and supporting someone to live an independent life in their community.

Hours: 10 hours per week consists of Morning and Evening shifts
Location : Lucan
Salary: €18 hourly rate (Anti-social and Sunday rates apply)
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist with preparation of cooking meals from scratch...
· Assist with any other tasks that I may require to undertake. For example: writing letters filling out forms etc.
· Personal care with dignity and respect of privacy
· Assist with packing for holidays or conferences.
· Light General domestic duties, washing ironing and hovering the kitchen floor.
· Attending events social activities with me
Position Characteristics:
· An understanding of disability and the Independent Living movement
· Ability to be pay close attention to detail and follow instruction
· fluency in English essential
· Trustworthiness – aware of the importance of confidentiality. [respect privacy]
· Patience, sense of humour and positive thinking would be a distinct advantage
· ability to think outside of the box
· Some evening, antisocial and weekend hours will be required
· Driving license an advantage but not essential.
· Must be able to work in Ireland
Qualifications
· FETAC Level 5 in Social Care or equivalent training or experience
· Manual handling experience / qualification essential
· Must be available to attend mandatory training sessions
· Flexible
· Must have a good knowledge of food hygiene / hygiene
Garda Vetting and training to be completed.
