Project Manager – Energy Team
Location: Limerick, Ireland
The Data Center and Energy Business Unit’s purpose is to engineer a decarbonized, cleaner, and more sustainable electrified future. Developing solutions for the digitized grid, renewable energy generation, energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, smart meters, and electrified powertrains, the group supports customers with breakthrough technology to convert, manage, and store electrical power.
Position Overview
The Energy Business Unit seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead teams developing new solutions for the Energy Conversion, Energy Management, Energy Storage, and Clean Energy markets. The role involves planning, execution, and delivery from project initiation through release of the final solution in volume to the customer.
Responsibilities
Work closely with functional stakeholders (Marketing, Engineering, Manufacturing) to define a clear project scope that meets market and company goals.
Ensure appropriate due diligence is applied to the business justification before development begins.
Develop the execution plan, including schedule, staffing, risk analysis, mitigation, and budget in partnership with functional leadership.
Oversee project execution: manage the project bounding box (schedule, scope, budget, staffing, and factory cost); continually evaluate risks and mitigate; coordinate day‑to‑day activities, priorities, meetings, and communications.
Serve as the focal point for project communications, compiling status updates for stakeholders and escalating critical issues and risks as necessary.
Maintain compliance with internal, customer, and industry standards, processes, and procedures.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement through post‑release lessons‑learned activities.
Champion Project Management best practices and new methodologies.
Ensure adherence to key milestones (tapeout, samples, release dates).
Track project performance against milestones and maintain accurate records.
Manage change requests that impact schedule or cost.
Work directly with key customers, scheduling and chairing meetings and delivering project updates.
Travel to customer sites for reviews as required.
Ideal Candidate / Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
Minimum 8 years of industry experience, with 5+ years as an Engineering Project/Program Manager in large multinational environments, preferably with silicon, hardware, software, and mechanical systems exposure.
PMP or equivalent accreditation; experience with PMBOK is a plus.
Proven success leading cross‑functional teams through influence.
Experience with multi‑site, multi‑geographical development.
Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to drive progress and resolve issues.
Analytical problem‑solving skills and decisive action in the best interest of the project.
Creativity, innovation, and willingness to explore new options to bridge challenges.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to manage details for all stakeholders.
Ability to foster teamwork and maintain positive relationships across the organization.
Leadership ability to mentor junior PM community members.
Proficiency with MS Office tools.
