The Role

Specialist Speech and Language Therapist required to carry out diagnostic assessments within the Neurodevelopmental Service. Training will be provided, however knowledge and experience with neurodivergent children and young people essential.

As part of a multidisciplinary/agency team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence based practice to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions.
To deliver comprehensive specialist Speech and Language Therapy services to clients with a variety of communication difficulties and/or eating/drinking/swallowing difficulties.
This service will be delivered in a variety of settings.
The post holder is expected to have relevant clinical skills, knowledge and experience across a broad spectrum of diagnosis and aetiologies.
Duties and location may vary depending on the client group/aspect and demands of the service/level of experience.

What we'll need you to bring

Degree in Speech and Language Pathology or equivalent
Registered Speech and Language Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
Post Graduate expertise within speciality/area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safely, effectively and efficiently.
Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality/area of practice.
Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality/area of practice.
Leadership skills to enable the day to day management of service delivery.
Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.
The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate others and work using own initiative.
Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills.
Full driving licence holder.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Neurodevelopmental Service Department within Udston Hospital.

The working pattern for this role Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
