We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Adventure Manager.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Adventure department, developing new strategies to ensure safe and successful operations, and managing the recruitment and training of the Adventure team.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement new systems and strategies to ensure safe and successful operations
* Manage the recruitment and training of the Adventure team
* Oversee the Adventure team's training, content, delivery standards, and team development
* Provide instruction in specialist areas relevant to the activities offered
* Support adventure opportunities or projects affiliated with our organization
* Plan appropriate programmes of outdoor activities for guests
* Ensure Adventure team members adhere to safety regulations and guidelines
* Assess risk and act upon any issues arising from this assessment
* Purchase, check, maintain, and prepare activity equipment
* Deal with financial management, including projections, costing, and invoicing
* Keep up-to-date records for incident and safety audits, maintenance logs, and Adventure team records/training
Requirements
* Qualifications and experience in variety of outdoor activities, including at least two full and relevant instructorships
* Up-to-date First Aid qualification
* Previous management role in a similar business or industry
* Desirable 3rd level Qualification in a related subject, such as business management or outdoor education
* Excellent leadership and management skills, with a willingness to lead by example
* Teamworking skills and the ability to motivate and inspire others
* Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to establish a rapport with a range of people
* Proven track record in achieving labour cost KPIs and an aptitude for numbers
* Ability to manage a budget and handle time-sensitive projects
* Flexibility to meet business and customer needs
