Job Description:

Our client, a well-established and reputable business in the agri sector based in Roscrea, Co. Tipperary, is seeking to recruit an Accounts Payable Assistant for a maternity leave contract. This is a key support role within the finance team, and the successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the accounts payable function.

Job Title: Accounts Payable Assistant (Maternity Cover)
Location: Roscrea, Co. Tipperary
Sector: Agri / Agriculture
Contract Type: Maternity cover - (6-9 months)
Working Hours: Flexible - 25 to 40 hours per week (to suit candidate availability)


Key Responsibilities:

Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner

Match, batch, and code invoices in accordance with company procedures

Reconcile supplier statements and follow up on discrepancies

Prepare payment runs and liaise with suppliers regarding payment queries

Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is filed correctly

Liaise with internal departments to resolve invoice or PO issues

Assist with month-end processes and reporting as required

Support the finance team with ad-hoc duties as necessary


Key Requirements:

Minimum 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar finance role

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Experience with accounting software packages (e.g., Sage, SAP, or similar) is desirable

Previous experience in an agri or manufacturing environment would be an advantage but is not essential

Contract Length: 6 to 7 months (maternity cover)

Hours: Part-time (25 hours) or full-time (up to 40 hours) - flexible based on candidate

On-site role - office-based in Roscrea

Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience

Supportive team environment with full training and handover provided
