Working closely with the Financial Controller, the FBP will act as an advisor to the business, providing financial insight to aid decision making and drive company performance.ResponsibilitiesBusiness margin validation and analysis.Close the monthly General Ledger to strict deadlines, reconcile and support Balance sheet & Profit & Loss accounts.Explain Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet variances vs BudgetsWork with management team in the preparation of the annual budgets.Act as the primary financial point of contact for designated business units.Work with leaders across the business providing targeted data driven insights to help run their business areas effectively and improve profitability.Challenge and influence key decisions to ensure alignment with financial goals.Preparing monthly reporting packs that clearly outline key financial performance metrics.Support monthly close, analyse monthly results, and provide variance explanations.Early identification of trends and proactive analysis to drive process and margin improvement.Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, and financial systems.Liaise and support company auditors during annual audit.Ad hoc duties as required.Skills and ExperienceStrong business acumen and ability to understand commercial drivers.IT literate including knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.Proven empowerment skills; well-developed influencing skills.Good communicator, able to convey information in a clear, simple and warm manner.Excellent client relationship management skills.Have a strong attention to detail and a willingness to challenge and interpret data.Ability to organise, interpret and analyse large volumes of qualitative and quantitative data.Detail-oriented with the ability to think strategically.Experience within the relevant industry, or a similar environment.Experience working within a results-oriented environment.QualificationsPart Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).Prior Business Partnering experience.Experience in Facilities Management or related industry (engineering, construction, mechanical or electrical) is desirable, but not essential.
