A leading manufacturing company is seeking a skilled Health and Safety Officer to join their team on a 12-month fixed term contract. The role will involve ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections across production areas.
* Develop, implement, and review safety procedures, SOPs, and safe systems of work.
* Monitor PPE use and ensure safety signage and procedures are in place and followed.
* Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, recommending corrective and preventive actions.
* Deliver induction training and regular toolbox talks for employees and contractors.
* Maintain H&S records, including incident logs, training registers, reports, and audit findings.
* Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to resolve safety issues effectively.
* Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including fire drills and first aid response plans.
Requirements:
* Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
* Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
* Strong knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
* Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and investigations.
* Excellent communication, training, and reporting skills.
