Job Description: Maintenance Manager

The Maintenance Manager is an integral part of our Engineering team based in our Ireland - Sligo site.

1. Manage the maintenance team.
2. Plan schedules across various horizons, ensuring vendor-led maintenance is booked and all necessary EHS & PO are in place.
3. Coordinate with Scheduler to plan access to equipment, facilities, and utilities.
4. Coordinate with QC to plan access to lab equipment, facilities, and utilities.
5. Implement a team workload planner for visibility and workload balancing.
6. Ensure all equipment, utilities, and facilities are maintained.
7. Prioritize workload for team and contingent workers to maintain equipment in a validated state supporting production.
8. Manage Work Orders for timely approval and closure, ensuring correct work, documentation, and metrics.
9. Assign primary and secondary maintenance engineers to each eMaint asset.
10. Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs for all GMP critical assets.
11. Ensure maintenance activities comply with EU GMP, EHS, and other standards.
12. Manage service contracts and vendor performance, ensuring SLAs are met.
13. Manage the team on-call rota, providing cover as required.
14. Ensure timely completion of deviations, CAPAs, and change controls related to maintenance.
15. Support regulatory inspections and internal audits; lead investigations and CAPA implementations.
16. Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Validation, and Engineering teams for operational continuity and improvements.
17. Prepare and manage budgets and KPIs.
18. Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability and uptime.
19. Manage training on SOPs, work instructions, and OJT to ensure compliance.
20. Support the introduction of new equipment or technology.
21. Perform duties in compliance with SOPs, EHS standards, legal requirements, and other guidelines.
22. Perform other duties as assigned.


Technical, Functional, and Professional Competencies

* In-depth knowledge of EU GMP regulations, especially Annex 1 & 15.
* Proven experience with CMMS.
* Familiarity with utilities and cleanroom environments.
* Strong technical aptitude.


Education and Experience

* Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance management, including people management, in a GMP-regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment.


Desired Education and Experience

* Experience with automation and building management systems.
* Experience supporting sterile/aseptic manufacturing or vaccine production is a strong advantage.
* Six Sigma, Lean, or Reliability Certifications. Project management experience in capital or upgrade projects.
