Quality Advisor - Civil Engineering & Utilities East Munster & Laois A progressive and forward thinking fast-growing civil engineering company delivering essential water and wastewater projects nationwide.
Due to an increase of projects in the East Munster and Laois region there is a new opportunity for a Quality Advisor/Quality lead.
In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the highest standards of quality are upheld across multiple infrastructure projects.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented and driven professional to contribute to vital works while championing compliance, performance, and continuous quality improvement.
Key Responsibilities: Quality Management & Planning: Review project contract documentation and determine all quality deliverables to ensure they are met.
Develop and review Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Conduct audits and inspections pre-project and throughout the project lifecycle.
Analyse and present quality data in management meetings.
Support tender submissions and contribute to quality improvement programmes.
Carry out snagging activities, including coordination with clients.
Sampling, Testing & Analysis: Perform sampling and testing of construction materials including aggregates, tarmac, welds (butt and electro-fusion), concrete cubes, and reinstatement materials.
Gather and analyse results from field and lab tests, including CLEGG results, cone penetrometer testing, and weld joint assessments.
Handle water and soil sampling logistics and ensure timely submission to labs.
Assist in pressure testing procedures, including delivery and collection of data loggers/pressure pumps and analysis of test graphs for TIS reporting.
Monitor and verify calibration of key equipment (e.g., fusion boxes, CAT & Genny, CLEGG hammers) and aid with calibration logistics.
Site Inspections & Compliance: Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor quality performance and compliance with project and client standards.
Inspect trench works, reinstatement (tarmac and concrete), and general workmanship.
Carry out audits and inspections in line with client requirements and regulatory expectations.
Liaise with government and regulatory bodies (EPA, County Councils, etc.) to maintain compliance and good relations.
Accompany clients during inspections and snagging activities, addressing concerns and documenting outcomes.
Communication & Support: Attend project and coordination meetings, providing updates on quality and compliance matters.
Conduct Toolbox Talks (TBTs) and deliver quality briefings as required.
Collaborate with the quality team and site staff to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to quality standards.
What Were Looking For: A degree in Civil Engineering or Construction-related discipline.
Previous experience on water infrastructure projects is a strong advantage.
Proven ability to problem solve and manage multiple priorities.
Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
Hands-on experience with quality systems, audits, and materials testing.
Strong knowledge of site operations and health & safety compliance.
Excellent communication and data analysis skills.
A full Irish Drivers Licence is essential.
