Head of Media Services Compliance
Coimisiún na Meán invites applications for the Head of Media Services Compliance role. This position supports the development and implementation of a compliance framework for media service providers to ensure a culturally relevant, inclusive media landscape.
About the Team / Division
The Compliance & Complaints team sits in the Media Landscape division and monitors compliance by certain media service providers with codes and rules, broadcasting contracts, European Works obligations and accessibility requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and rollout of the Media Services Compliance Framework alongside Assistant Directors.
Develop regulatory rules on European Works for broadcasters and VOD providers and oversee compliance monitoring.
Produce high-quality reports and presentations on activity to publishable standards.
Review operations for efficiency and recommend improvements.
Collaborate across teams to establish new regulatory functions and develop, implement, and review policies.
Lead a high-performing team, including recruitment, onboarding, mentoring, and coaching.
Engage with industry, civil society, and Government stakeholders and represent the organisation in national, European, and international fora.
Ensure team activities and outputs comply with governance standards, legal obligations, and organisational policies.
About You
Experience, Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience, including 2+ years in people management.
Experience in a regulatory/public body and/or media sector.
Proven ability to plan and lead projects.
Strong interpersonal, relationship‑building, negotiation, and influencing skills.
Excellent written communication across reports, presentations, policies, and correspondence.
Experience designing and implementing processes and new systems.
Skilled in independent research, data analysis, and report preparation.
Ability to develop expertise in complex, fast‑changing legislative and technological environments.
Experience with CRM tools and database management.
Fluency in or working knowledge of the Irish language.
Key Information
Permanent basis.
Full time, 35 hours per week.
Annual Leave: 30 days per annum.
Hybrid role: 2 days in office at One Shelbourne Buildings, Shelbourne Road, Dublin 4, D04 NP20.
Belongs to the Assistant Principal scale; appointment at first point of the scale.
