Medium Voltage (MV) Cable Jointers

Role Overview
As a Medium Voltage Cable Jointer, you will be responsible for the installation, jointing, and termination of MV power cables on a range of utility, industrial, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects. The role requires a high level of technical competence, safety awareness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out MV cable jointing and terminations in accordance with manufacturer instructions, industry standards, and project specifications
* Work on polymeric (XLPE) and, where applicable, paper-insulated cables
* Install straight joints, transition joints, and terminations for indoor and outdoor applications
* Ensure all work complies with relevant European standards, client requirements, and company procedures
* Perform pre-commissioning checks and support testing activities where required
* Complete accurate job documentation, test records, and as-built information
* Maintain a strong focus on health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance at all times
* Liaise professionally with site supervisors, engineers, clients, and other trades
* Support fault repair and emergency works when required
* Represent the company positively while working on client and third-party sites
Essential Experience & Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Medium Voltage Cable Jointer (typically 10kV–38kV, with higher voltages advantageous)
* Demonstrable experience working on live projects within utility, industrial, or infrastructure environments
* Recognised cable jointing qualifications and/or manufacturer certifications
* Strong understanding of MV cable systems, accessories, and installation practices
* Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and method statements
* Excellent knowledge of safe systems of work and risk assessment processes
* Full driving licence
* Right to work within Europe or willingness to work on European projects (support may be available)
Desirable Skills & Experience
* Experience with major cable accessory manufacturers
* HV experience or authorizations
* Fault finding and repair experience
* Previous experience working on international or European projects
* Additional electrical or power engineering certifications
* Multilingual capability (advantageous but not essential)
