At Sunbeam Veterinary Hospital, we're offering a rare opportunity to work alongside a large, skilled team of clinicians and specialists, using cutting-edge facilities and equipment not commonly found in general practice. This role is perfect for confident veterinary surgeons who are comfortable in consults, internal medicine, and routine surgeries – whether you're an ambitious vet eager to upskill in a busy hospital setting, or a seasoned clinician seeking to collaborate with like-minded professionals at the top of their field. Please note: this role is not suitable for new graduates or those requiring mentoring in first-opinion GP practice. The Role You will play a key role in our consulting and internal medicine services, providing exceptional care to a varied caseload of small animal patients. While the role is primarily consult-focused, there will also be opportunities to assist in surgical cases and gain exposure to referral-level procedures. You'll work 40 hours per week, including 1 in 4 Saturdays and 1 in 8 Sundays as part of a supportive, well-structured rota that ensures a healthy work-life balance. About Sunbeam Vets Established in 2003, Sunbeam Vets is a 100% small animal group with multiple clinics across Cork, including Blackpool, Cobh, Passage West, and Kinsale Road. Our state-of-the-art referral and 24-hour emergency hospital in Northpoint, Cork City, is one of Ireland's most advanced veterinary facilities. Our hospital offers a full range of services, including CT scanning, digital radiography, laparoscopic surgery, orthopaedics (including spinal work), ultrasound, hydrotherapy, and 24/7 emergency and critical care. We also host visiting specialists, enabling our team to continuously learn and collaborate across disciplines. With a dedicated team of over 40 professionals - including 16 veterinary surgeons, 18 veterinary nurses, and 8 support staff - we're passionate about excellence in patient care, teamwork, and continued professional development.
