We are seeking a skilled and reliable Chargehand (Chargeman) to oversee and coordinate day-to-day site activities and ensure work is carried out efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical systems, and the ability to manage a small team of tradespeople and apprentices on-site. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate the work of technicians, tradespeople, and apprentices on-site Interpret technical drawings, plans, and specifications to guide work activities Ensure all tasks are carried out in accordance with project timelines, safety protocols, and quality standards Report daily progress and issues to the Site Supervisor or Project Manager Perform hands-on tasks when required and provide technical support to the team Ensure that materials, tools, and equipment are available and used appropriately Assist in training and mentoring junior staff Conduct inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety and quality regulations Liaise with other trades and contractors on-site to ensure smooth workflow Requirements: Proven experience in a similar supervisory or senior trade role (e.g., mechanical, electrical, plumbing) Relevant trade qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., FETAC Level 6 or equivalent) Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices Excellent communication and team leadership skills Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Full driving licence (desirable) Desirable: Safe Pass, Manual Handling, and other relevant site certifications Experience in commercial or industrial projects Familiarity with site management software or tools Skills: Plumbing Manager Benefits: van phone diesel
