This position will be a hybrid work arrangement. You will receive 18 remote workdays per quarter to use at your discretion, subject to manager approval. For example, you may choose to work in the office 4 days per week and take one remote day weekly (typically 13 weeks per quarter), leaving 5 additional remote days to be used as needed.
HarbourVest Partners (HVP) is seeking a Director with approximately 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a mix of public/private and/or private equity fund accounting experience.
The Director will work closely with an experienced group of professionals to help lead current reporting cycle work as well as drive innovation and improvements that will improve efficiency and scale in a fast paced environment
The ideal candidate is someone who is:

What you will do:
* Lead and supervise a team of up to 10 professionals, providing training, development, and growth opportunities to support organizational scale and success.
* Own the financial reporting process for assigned funds, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness in compliance with governing documents.
* Quarterly NAV calculations
* All supporting accounting documentation and reconciliations
* Investment valuations
* Quarterly and annual reporting, including capital account statements and audited financial statements under US GAAP and/or IFRS
* Ad hoc reporting and client information requests
* Proactively manage fund-level cash activity, including making recommendations on investor distributions.
* Collaborate with internal teams to forecast cash needs, manage credit facilities, ensure compliance and reporting, manage fund obligations, and perform liquidity analysis and presentations.
* Act as a change leader, driving efficiency improvements and transformation initiatives.
* Perform other responsibilities as needed.
What you bring:
* Strong technical knowledge of private equity accounting, including partnership accounting, management fees, expense allocation, equity allocations, and waterfalls.
* A strong work ethic, collaborative approach, and proven ability to build and engage teams.
* Solid understanding of US GAAP and fair value reporting standards.
* Strong digital literacy with the ability to interpret, compile, and analyze data effectively.
Education Preferred:
* Bachelor's degree with major in accounting, CPA preferred.
Experience:
* 10+ Years relevant experience
