Our client, a multinational medical device manufacturer, is currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time, on-site position based outside of Waterford City.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement of essential raw materials and components to support plant production.
Monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
Providing accurate forecasts and maintaining effective communication with vendors.
Executing RFQs and conducting regular competitive benchmarking for cost efficiency.
Managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement in reliability, cost, lead time, and inventory reduction.
Negotiating and implementing supply agreements with key vendors.
Leading cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives while managing supplier evaluation programs.
Supporting new product introductions, product rationalisation, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with cGMP standards.
Requirements
Degree or diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management or related area.
Experience in buying at senior level within the Pharma or Med Tech industries.
MRP experience.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, influence and negotiation skills.
Proficient in problem‑solving and demonstrates financial acumen.
Direct material experience in a cGMP environment would be a distinct advantage.
