Checkout Operator

Main Purpose of the Role:

* Ensure efficient and effective operation of the checkout department at all times.
* Provide excellent customer service to customers.
\

Key Responsibilities:

* Operate a computerised till system with barcode scanner.
* Weigh and price products such as fruit and vegetables.
* Check customers' ages for restrictions on items such as alcohol.
* Process store loyalty cards, coupons and vouchers.
* Take payments and ensure the till balances at the end of the day.
\

Additional Responsibilities:

* Stock shelves and check stock levels.
* Merchandise and present the department to the highest standard at all times.
\

* 2 years' experience in a retail role desirable.
* Ability to balance tills.
* Strong attention to detail, organised and flexible.
* Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
