Job Description
* Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues in vehicles using diagnostic tools and test drives.
* Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake servicing, tyre repairs, alignments, and fluid checks.
* Carry out repairs on engines, transmissions, steering systems, suspension, exhaust systems, and other mechanical components.
* Inspect vehicles for faults, wear, and potential issues, providing accurate repair recommendations.
* Complete service and repair records accurately and in line with company procedures.
* Ensure all work is carried out to manufacturer standards and meets safety and compliance requirements.
* Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding necessary repairs and timelines.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop area.
* Keep up to date with new vehicle technologies, diagnostic methods, and repair procedures.
Requirements & Experience
* Candidate must be competent to carry out all duties listed above.
* Minimum 3 years of previous experience working as a mechanic.
* Mechanic/motor technician qualification is an advantage but is not required.
* Proven experience working as a car mechanic or vehicle technician.
* Experience working in a garage and with a fleet of vehicles.
* Knowledge of vehicle electronics and diagnostics.
* Strong mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic skills.
* Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment and workshop tools.
* Good problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication and customer service skills.
* Commitment to maintaining high quality and safety standards.
Annual Remuneration: €34,000.00; Pay rate €16.77 per hour.
Work Location: Marcin & Piotr Motors Santry Limited t/a MP Motors, Old Airport Road, Santry, Dublin 9, Co. Dublin.
Number of hours work each week: 39.
