Join a dynamic, customer-focused security team, as Airport Search Unit (ASU) Officer in one of Ireland’s busiest environments, Dublin Airport. Your primary responsibility will be working alongside a team of aviation security professionals. You will use your outstanding customer service and critical-thinking skills. This is a 24/7 shift-based roster, primarily based indoors in the airport but some opportunities may become available over time, to work outdoors at the vehicle checkpoints.
The Airport Search Unit (ASU) team plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of all airport users. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to aviation security while delivering exceptional customer service.
Whether you're starting your career, returning to the workforce, or looking to build on your existing experience, we welcome applicants from all backgrounds. No prior security experience is required—full training will be provided.
We offer:

Hourly rate for the role is €19.80 per hour
Permanent role with full access to an excellent company pension scheme
Contract will be 35-40 hours; you will be guaranteed minimum 35 hours but must be available work up to 40 hours weekly across a 24/7 roster.

Responsibilities

Conduct screening of passengers, staff, baggage, and vehicles
Operate a range of security screening equipment
Provide clear and courteous communication to passengers
Manage queues and ensure smooth passenger flow
Maintain awareness of security protocols and report concerns
Ensure compliance with health and safety SOPs
Control access to restricted areas
Adhere to health and safety procedures
Assist during airport emergencies or unplanned events
Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications

Have legal right to live and work in Ireland
Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Willingness and availability to work a 24/7 shift roster (including nights, weekends, early mornings, and public holidays)
Ability to meet and maintain Irish Aviation Authority (IAA) certification standards
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Professional, calm, and courteous manner
Comfortable working in high-traffic and seasonal peak environment
Basic computer literacy
Minimum of a Leaving Certificate or equivalent

Daa as regulated entity requires all applicants to:

Pass 5-year background check (including a criminal background check/Garda Vetting)
Pass a medical evaluation
Successfully meet all requirements to obtain an Airport Identity Card
