We are hiring a Dietitian; Bariatric Service for a Hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
* Provide patients with individualized, evidence-based nutrition interventions both before and after bariatric surgery (such as a gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy).
* Perform thorough evaluations that include physiological markers, eating habits, food intake, psychological preparedness, and weight history.
* Assist patients in following lifelong supplements regimens, post-operative progression diets, and pre-operative weight loss.
* Keep an eye on micronutrient levels, modify meal plans, and discuss any issues with the MDT.
* Provide patients with information and guidance on behavior modification, reasonable expectations, and long-term weight control.
* Engage in pre-operative case evaluations, surgery follow-ups, and bariatric MDT sessions.
* Maintain close communication with general practitioners, psychologists, bariatric surgeons, and nursing staff.
* Encourage integrated patient recordkeeping and support coordinated care strategies.
Requirements
* Human Nutrition & Dietetics B.Sc. or Diploma (recognized by CORU)
* CORU Registration (mandatory)
* A master's degree in clinical nutrition, obesity management, or a related discipline is preferred.
* Preferably, membership in the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute
* At least two years of post-qualification experience with shown proficiency in bariatric surgery assistance and weight management.
* Familiarity with multidisciplinary care environments.
* Familiarity with long-term patient adherence, behavior change methods, and motivational interviewing.
* Membership of the Irish Nutrition and Dietetic Institute is preferable.
* 2 years satisfactory post qualification clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient services.
