The College has grown rapidly in scale, strength and stature since its foundation and specialises in the delivery of programmes up to level 9 NFQ with particular expertise in education, including initial teacher education and nursing undergraduate programmes.Hibernia College is an established leader in pioneering new education technologies and embracing change in the ever-evolving world of education, ensuring its students receive best practice, real-time learning throughout its curricula with access to outstanding faculty and innovative technology.Job PurposeThe Lecturer in Education will work closely with the Post-Primary Team ensuring the provision of the quality of the student experience. The Lecturer in Education role will be supported by a range of academic and administrative support staff in addition to a sizeable academic adjunct faculty.Key Job ResponsibilitiesPromote and sustain the mission and values of the College including a learning outcomes cultureTake responsibility for the development, growth, and success of the programme - academic and professionalLiaise and work closely with other members of the Post-Primary teamOversee and co-ordinate the work of the Inclusion modules to include Inclusion, Diversity and Global Education and Inclusive PedagogyLead planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programme including managing theannual self-evaluation process and the (re) accreditation of programmeDemonstrate flexibility in working in a cross-disciplinary model across a range of modulesSupervise students on School PlacementSupervise student-teacher dissertationsCollaborate with academic administration and learning services in monitoring, reviewing and development of modulesGrade, second mark, and moderate student workKey Job RequirementsEssentialQualified Post-Primary teacher with a minimum of 8 years' teaching experience in IrelandMinimum qualification must be at level 9 (Masters in Education or related discipline)Proactive, flexible and adaptiveExcellent knowledge of the Post-Primary School CurriculumExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsHighly organised with a track record of accuracy and excellent attention to detailHave a proven track record in the education sector, teacher education, or education leadership and management relevant to the roleBe knowledgeable of recent policy developments in the education sector and in teacher education.Be a capable and confident communicator with a very strong personal presence and a proven ability to rapidly respond to and manage changeBe an experienced people manager with proven ability to lead and develop teamsBe a strong team player who is self-motivating, enthused by change and able to proactively respond to a wide range of challengesDesirable:Be qualified to PhD level and be research activeBe an active member of committees, forums, national bodies and or working groups relevant to the roleBe experienced in the management and or delivery of programmes of teacher education and the de-sign and management of assessmentBe experienced in managing dispersed teamsClosing date for receipt of applications 13 August 2025Please note the College reserves the right to close the role prior to this date should a suitable applicant be found.To be considered for this role you will be redirected to and must complete the application process on our careers page.
