To support our expanding health services and strengthen our clinical assurance, we are now recruiting a Clinical Audit Nurse.
This role plays a vital part in ensuring the safety, quality, and consistency of clinical care across Laya's ecosystem.
Working closely with internal teams and external providers, you'll help maintain clinical standards, drive best practice, and ensure our members receive the safest and most effective care possible.
About the Role
The Audit Nurse will support the design, delivery, and ongoing development of Laya's clinical audit programme.
You'll work hands-on across clinical settings to assess quality, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with regulatory and contractual requirements.
You'll review clinical documentation, analyse trends, conduct structured audits, and collaborate with clinical and operational leaders to embed continuous improvement.
This is a dynamic role suited to someone who is clinically experienced, detail-oriented, and passionate about ensuring excellence in patient care.
What You'll Be Doing
Clinical Audit & Quality Assurance
Deliver a structured clinical audit programme across Laya's clinics and partner networks
Conduct audits of clinical records, care delivery, documentation, and adherence to protocols
Assess compliance with Laya's quality standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations
Support the development of audit tools, methodologies, and consistent quality assessment measures
Provide evidence-based recommendations and support action planning with local teams
Monitoring & Oversight
Review clinical pathways, service utilisation, and adherence to best practice guidelines
Monitor trends in audit findings and escalate significant risks or patterns of concern
Support the verification of clinical registrations, competencies, and professional compliance
Maintain oversight of corrective actions and re-audit processes
Incident, Complaint & Risk Support
Assist in the review of clinical incidents and complaints, identifying root causes and contributing factors
Participate in clinical governance forums and contribute insights from audit activity
Support risk mitigation and quality improvement initiatives across the Health Services function
Continuous Improvement
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement improvements identified through audit
Promote a culture of learning and high performance in quality and patient safety
Assist in training and education initiatives related to documentation, audit readiness, and clinical standards
Share insights to enhance care pathways, processes, and member outcomes
Data & Reporting
Prepare clear audit reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and governance committees
Track KPI performance and compliance across multiple clinical service providers
Ensure accurate documentation of audit findings, actions, and status updates
About You
Essential
Registered General Nurse (RGN) with active NMBI registration
Minimum 3–5 years post-registration clinical experience
Experience in clinical audit, quality assurance, or clinical governance
Strong understanding of clinical documentation standards and evidence-based practice
Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and reporting skills
Ability to build collaborative relationships across multidisciplinary teams
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
Postgraduate qualification in Quality, Patient Safety, or Clinical Governance
Experience across multi-site clinical services or partner-delivered care
Familiarity with accreditation frameworks such as HIQA, JCI, ISO, or CHKS
