Position Description The Networks Engineering department in EMP works closely with ESB Networks, Eirgrid, and external contracting partners to deliver engineering, technical, and innovative solutions that are safe, sustainable, and commercially optimised in alignment with ESB's Net Zero by 2040 Strategy. We are seeking an experienced technologist with a civil or structural technician background to contribute to our vision for a brighter future. This position requires providing advanced civil and structural technician services to support the expansion of Ireland's electrical transmission network and to help develop innovative engineering solutions for large capital infrastructure projects. Key responsibilities include preparing general arrangement and construction detail CAD drawings (civil and/or structural) and analysing collected data to produce effective civil and structural designs for transmission projects. Key Responsibilities Deliver civil and structural technician services on a range of electrical transmission projects Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary team to deliver ESB's Net Zero by 2040 strategy Coordinate with internal, external designers and contractors from various engineering disciplines Independently create high-quality designs for review Gather & analyse project information to produce effective designs on civil engineering projects Contribute to the continuous process of innovation on projects. Experience &Qualifications Essential A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience with an engineering design office with particular focus on structural steel detailing. A Level 8 qualification or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognised third-level institution, or more than 10 years of relevant experience that clearly meets and exceeds the requirements of the position. A third-level qualification in Digital Construction (BIM) or equivalent demonstrable experience Extensive experience using Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD for the design, drafting, and coordination of engineering projects Proficient in creating detailed 2D and 3D models, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, BIM-compliant designs Ability to work independently and deliver project deadlines Organised and adaptable with a flexible approach to work. Desirable Competence in Reinforced Concrete (RC) detailing and scheduling using Cads RC Experience in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D Holds a full driving licence with access to a car Reporting to A Senior Team leader within Networks Engineering, EMP Location This role is based in ourDublin office, The Sidings Building, Dublin 2,but travel to project locations asrequired, is a key requirement of the role The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week.
