We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Psychologist to join our clients dynamic and multidisciplinary team in Galway. The role is in Primary Care- Child Services – Wait List Initiative and is ideal for a dedicated professional who is passionate about mental health and eager to contribute at both a clinical and strategic level. Please note, this is a 1 year contract.
As a Senior Psychologist, you will play a vital role not only in providing high-quality clinical services but also in guiding junior staff, contributing to service development, and shaping strategic decisions. You’ll be joining an environment that prioritizes professional excellence and innovation client care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough psychological assessments, formulate diagnoses, and deliver evidence-based interventions across a broad range of psychological presentations.
* Offer clinical supervision and ongoing professional support to early-career psychologists, interns, and allied mental health staff.
* Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, social workers, counsellors, and case managers to ensure comprehensive, client-centred care.
* Contribute to program development, quality improvement, and research initiatives.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
* Participate in service planning, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical governance.
* Contribute to internal training, research, and development of therapeutic programs tailored to community needs.
* Maintain up-to-date client records, documentation, and ethical practice in line with regulatory standards.
* Uphold ethical standards and best practices in psychological care.
Requirements:
* Candidates must complete the eligibility requirements set forth by The Psychological Society of Ireland and possess a recognized post-graduate degree in psychology.
* Master’s or Doctoral degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counselling, or equivalent).
* Registration with Psychological Society of Ireland.
* Minimum 5 years of post-registration experience in a clinical setting.
* Proven leadership, supervision, and mentoring skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Pay: €97,528.00-€102,183.00 per year
