Salary: Appointment will be made on Staff Nurse Grade (€36,919 - €54,928) at a point in line with Government pay policy.
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week
Closing Date: 12 Noon 29/05/2025 (Please note the hospital reserves the right to close the competition early should a substantial number of applications be received) ResponsibilitiesAs a Staff Nurse in Beaumont Hospital, you will be responsible for each shift for a caseload of patients.
Your duties include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care within the Roper, Logan, and Tierney Model of Nursing, practicing within the Code of Practice guidelines from An Bord Altranais, and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
You will report to the Clinical Nurse Manager or delegated nurse in their absence.
The role involves clinical, professional, managerial, and educational responsibilities, including:
Maintaining high standards of nursing care.Developing clinical expertise, leadership, and teaching skills.Sharing responsibility for managing nursing care and patient environment.Ensuring professional and ethical standards.Facilitating safe discharge and transit of patients.Clinical RoleProviding effective, individualized nursing care through:
Assessing physical, psychological, and social problems and nursing needs.Documenting assessments and medical treatment plans.Ensuring safe discharge procedures.Leading nursing treatments and care.Involving relatives and providing teaching for transfer home.Promoting the transit care unit to staff and colleagues.Clinical SkillsAssessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation of patient care, including:
Utilizing assessment skills and documenting findings.Developing and implementing care and discharge plans.Providing safe, comprehensive care within legal and policy guidelines.Performing procedures accurately and safely.Maintaining a safe environment and respecting patient dignity and confidentiality.Responding effectively in emergencies.Communication SkillsDocumenting, reporting, and communicating effectively with patients, relatives, and team members, while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
Professional ExpectationsSupporting hospital objectives, following authority lines, demonstrating flexibility, and developing policies related to transit care.
Management SkillsOrganizing care, delegating tasks, making decisions, and liaising with patient flow teams and senior staff.

QualificationsApplicants must be registered with NMBI and eligible to work in Ireland.
Desirable experience includes managing post-operative surgical patients.
