Senior Operative/Operator – Dublin (Network Maintenance & Repair)
Location: Dublin 1, Ireland
Responsibilities
Supervise the planned and reactive maintenance and repair activities across the water and wastewater network infrastructure, including repairs of bursts and leaks, water mains, service fittings, water meters, customer boundary boxes, and cleaning service reservoirs.
Respond promptly to alarms, provide emergency cover, and resolve issues and incidents on water network infrastructure assets.
Supervise mains rehabilitation, main laying, connection, and meter installations as required.
Check chemical dosing measures at pumping stations, support compliance and sampling teams, and report results.
Direct maintenance of non‑domestic water meters, conduct site investigations, liaise with the Metering Services team.
Inform customers about issues and resolutions, investigate escalated complaints and manage public health and compliance risk.
Support customer teams and key account managers with any customer queries or impacts to service delivery.
Record and report information accurately in operational systems, including investigations, work orders, health and safety records, and inventory management.
Manage material requisitions, record details, and ensure incidents are documented with circumstances.
Adhere to health and safety procedures, perform risk assessments, use PPE, and comply with construction regulations.
Operate Uisce Éireann vehicles and machinery responsibly, maintaining adequate stock levels.
Ensure teams follow schedules, standard operating procedures, and close out work orders.
Collaborate with third parties or contractors to support network activities.
Issue permits to contractors and ensure they follow health and safety procedures.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders such as landowners and contractors.
Track and monitor team activities, update timesheets, sign off attendance, and assist reporting and performance management.
Drive efficiency of work, inspect completed tasks, and track training delivery.
Provide cover and support to other water operations teams as required.
Carry out any other duties reasonably requested by the line manager.
Qualifications & Experience
Secondary level education or equivalent work experience.
Minimum two years of relevant experience in a similar role.
Full, clean, and valid Irish category B driving licence (additional categories are an advantage).
Experience supervising or managing teams within a health and safety culture, preferably in a water or wastewater network environment.
Knowledge of water and wastewater network infrastructure and operations.
Understanding of health and safety practices and regulations.
Experience using IT systems and strong customer service skills.
Ability to work in potentially hazardous environments after completing occupational health assessment.
Experience in water services or utilities is an advantage.
