Position Summary
The Graduate Facilities Engineer will support the Facilities Hard Services team within Johnson & Johnson, focusing on essential building infrastructure, black utilities, and life safety systems. This role offers a unique opportunity for recent graduates to gain hands-on experience working on critical facilities systems in a dynamic bio-manufacturing environment. The Graduate Facilities Engineer will contribute to maintaining operational excellence, safety, and compliance through supporting ongoing infrastructure maintenance and engineering activities.

This position provides an excellent platform for aspiring engineers to develop technical skills, gain practical experience in facility management, and contribute directly to the safety and efficiency of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine operations. The Graduate Student will be mentored by experienced professionals and exposed to industry best practices.
Role & Responsibilities
Support Facilities Operations:
Assist in the maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of building infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and utilities systems.
Support the operation and maintenance of black utilities such as compressed air, HVAC, water systems, and other critical plant utilities.
Aid in the management and monitoring of life safety systems, ensuring proper functionality of fire detection, alarm, and emergency systems.
Project Assistance:
Contribute to facility improvement projects, infrastructure upgrades, and routine preventative maintenance programs.
Support documentation and reporting of maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
Safety & Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures.
Assist in safety inspections and audits, supporting corrective actions as needed.
Promote a safety-first culture within the facilities team.
Technical Learning & Development:
Engage proactively in on-the-job training and development activities to deepen technical knowledge.
Collaborate with experienced engineers and technicians to gain insights into facility management best practices.
Administrative Support:
Support maintenance scheduling, inventory management, and procurement activities.
Assist in creating and maintaining accurate records for regulatory compliance and asset management.
Education & Experience
Minimum Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Utilities Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related discipline.
A recent graduate (2025 or due to graduate in 2026)
Strong interest in facilities infrastructure, utilities systems, and safety management.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
A proactive learner with a safety-conscious attitude.
Self-motivated, with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving ability.
Desirable
Exposure to facilities management, maintenance, or engineering in a regulated environment.
Knowledge of building management systems (BMS), control systems, or utilities monitoring.
