Job Description
Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in quantity surveying, who will have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for all project phases, including tender documents, contracts, drawings, BoQ, specifications, budgets, and maintain accurate records.
* Perform material take-offs prior to purchase requisitions for projects and report any irregularities or discrepancies to the project management team.
* Implement post-contract duties, including measurements, final accounts, and evaluation reports, preparation of payment applications, and agreeing with clients.
* Work closely with project teams to ensure that measurements, variations, and contractual matters are properly recorded and notified.
* Manage, examine, control, and evaluate subcontractor works, evaluate claims, variations, invoices, and ensure contractual obligations are satisfied.
* Evaluate quotations obtained from suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring quantities and specifications align with tender and project specifications, prepare and update material status and procurement schedules.
* Conduct meetings with clients, site managers, project managers, and site engineers, identify and track changes to design and project work, adjust budgets accordingly.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying or Mechanical Engineering.
* 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying or mechanical engineering.
* Technical and practical knowledge of all phases of contract development, award, administration, and close-out relating to multi-discipline civil/construction projects.
* Capability to accept responsibilities and accomplish project objectives in a timely manner.
* Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, good communication skills, and strong English capability.
