Logistics Operations Director
We are seeking an experienced Logistics Operations Director to join our organisation. As a key member of our Freight Logistics and Operations department, you will play a vital role in optimising processes, ensuring inventory and shipments move efficiently, and contributing to the development of profitable growth in FTL/LTL operations.
The successful candidate will lead strategic operations to achieve national NP1 targets for Full Truck Load (FTL) and Less-than-Truck Load (LTL) services. They will align operational goals with business objectives through collaboration with senior leadership and performance tracking, ensuring service excellence by maintaining SLA compliance and driving continuous improvement across FTL and LTL operations.
Responsibilities include:
* Managing carrier relationships by implementing selection and performance strategies for subcontractors and logistics partners.
* Optimising processes through standardisation and automation to boost dispatcher efficiency and team productivity.
* Developing high-performing teams via coaching, training, and fostering a culture of operational excellence.
* Supporting commercial growth by partnering with sales teams during tenders and onboarding to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Ensuring compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and contributing to scalable operational standards.
Requirements include:
* Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
* Demonstrated expertise in managing FTL and LTL operations across multiple European markets.
* Strong command of logistics IT systems, particularly TMS platforms, as well as advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word).
* Ability to interpret complex data sets, identify trends, and develop actionable insights to drive operational efficiency, cost savings, and service improvements.
* A strong team player who fosters a culture of trust, respect, and collaboration across all levels of the organisation.
