Junior to Intermediate Quantity Surveyor Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team for an Overhead Line framework project.
Key Responsibilities
* Commercial Strategy & Support:
o Implement commercial strategies to meet project goals and support Senior and Managing Quantity Surveyors with tender preparation, evaluation, and subcontractor agreements.
o Manage financial and commercial aspects of subcontractors, ensuring timely Final Account resolution.
* Documentation & Financial Oversight:
o Maintain accurate site records and documentation, conduct detailed site measurements, and contribute to cost-value reconciliations (CVRs), forecasts, and financial targets.
o Manage valuations and ensure timely submission and agreement of variations.
* Team Collaboration & Risk Management:
o Collaborate with site management teams to address commercial issues and actively engage in the CVR process, providing independent analysis.
o Identify and mitigate risks while leveraging project opportunities and support cash flow management to ensure strong financial health.
* Mentorship & Learning:
o Supervise and mentor Assistant and Trainee Quantity Surveyors, ensuring quality and accuracy, and develop understanding of Design & Build (D&B) and Contractor Design Portion (CDP) contracts.
o Gain experience in contract law, claims, and dispute resolution.
* Client Liaison:
o Engage with clients on commercial matters related to the project and promote and protect the company's commercial and contractual rights.
Requirements
* Experience: Minimum 1 year as a Quantity Surveyor in a Civils/Construction environment.
* Skills:
o Strong written and verbal communication abilities, proficiency with technology platforms, and effective time management, organization, and negotiation skills.
o Demonstrated commercial awareness and ownership.
