Job Summary
Powercomm Group is seeking a motivated and capable Junior Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an engineer with a solid academic foundation and up to two years of industry experience who is looking to further develop their technical skills while working on a diverse range of electrical engineering projects.
You will work closely with senior engineers and project teams, gaining exposure to design, site activities, and project delivery within the energy, utilities, renewables, and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
* Electrical Engineering Support:
Support senior engineers across electrical design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
* Design & Technical Assistance:
Assist with the preparation of electrical drawings, layouts, calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
* Project Delivery:
Contribute to project execution by supporting planning, coordination, and technical problem-solving activities.
* Compliance & Standards:
Assist in ensuring all work complies with relevant electrical standards, regulations, and client requirements.
* Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, drawings, and records.
* Quality & Safety:
Support quality assurance processes and adhere to Powercomms health, safety, and environmental standards.
* Site Support:
Attend site visits as required to assist with surveys, inspections, testing, and resolving technical queries.
* Continuous Development:
Continue to build technical knowledge, digital skills, and industry awareness through training and mentoring.
Qualifications & Experience
* Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (essential)
* Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in an electrical engineering role (including graduate, placement, or early-career roles)
* Experience or exposure to electrical systems within energy, utilities, construction, industrial, or infrastructure environments
* Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation
* Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, EPlan, or similar (desirable)
* Strong problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills
* Willingness to learn and work under the guidance of senior engineers
* Interest in renewables, sustainability, and modern electrical technologies
* Understanding of BIM workflows and digital tools is an advantage
* Full driving licence (desirable)
