Social Care Worker/Senior Support Worker

About the Role
As we expand our services to meet the needs of those we care for, we currently have opportunities within our Orchard Community Care division at our Carlow location for full-time and part-time Social Care Workers.
We welcome you to join our team to provide residential and day services to children and adults with medium to profound disabilities, including those with life-limiting conditions.
Our multidisciplinary teams are supported by psychologists, behavioral therapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists.
Working on a rolling shift rota, you will engage in daily activities, routines, and provide support to enhance the development, health, and well-being of the people we care for.
Essential Requirements:
* Qualification at Level 7 or above in Social Care, Social Science, Psychology, Education, Youth & Community, or related fields.
* Full manual driving license valid in Ireland.
* Eligibility and availability to work without restrictions.
Desirable:
* At least one year's recent experience in social services.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support the daily running of the service, implementing a person-centred approach.
* Ensure personal plans are completed in line with regulations and standards.
* Support individuals in their daily lives and choices.
* Maintain files for HIQA inspections.
* Engage with families, clinicians, and community links.
* Implement positive support programs, promote independence, and community integration.
* Stay updated on social care policies and sectoral changes.
* Encourage and motivate individuals to participate in activities.
* Support personal care and daily needs of individuals.
* Educate yourself about each person supported, using reflective practice for continual improvement.
* Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and attending meetings and supervisions.
* Maintain confidentiality in line with GDPR.
* Conduct health and safety checks, risk assessments, and report findings.
* Manage medication in accordance with policies.
* Communicate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and relevant parties.
* Participate in meetings and follow up on actions.
* Work shifts flexibly to meet service needs.
* Perform any other duties within the scope of the role.
