Hospitality Business Development Manager - Cork Ireland Hybrid
Responsibilities
* Represent Trigon Hotel Group in the Cork Chamber Committee.
* Build partnerships with local colleges and universities for conferences & events.
* Position Trigon hotels as leading wedding venues and achieve annual wedding targets.
* Ensure prompt handling of guest queries with an initial response within 2 hours.
* Maintain and update all company profiles.
* Plan and organize weekly sales calls and schedule client appointments at least one week in advance.
* Achieve rooms and conference sales budgets.
* Compile weekly and monthly sales reports.
* Strategically target all market segments for business development.
* Plan and execute sales promotions, away sales trips, and mail shots.
* Ensure administrative tasks are completed (follow-ups, research calls, rate contracts).
* Communicate negotiated rates to reservations, front office, and accounts.
* Update corporate grid weekly and ensure adherence to credit procedures.
* Communicate client agreements with relevant departments.
* Monitor competitor activities and rates.
* Stay informed about hotel business activities and local events to optimize revenue strategies.
* Identify public relations opportunities to promote the hotel group locally.
* Manage hotel websites (content, photos, web pages).
* Organize supermarket promotions and host monthly guest evenings.
* Identify blackout dates and adjust strategies accordingly.
* Promote and sell Trigon conference facilities to attract large conferences.
* Maintain updated databases and send out monthly ezines to clients.
* Attend weekly sales, marketing, yield meetings, and monthly group meetings, preparing and actioning reports.
* Provide support in other areas of the hotel group as required and respond to reasonable requests from senior management.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in business development, sales, or hospitality.
* Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
* Ability to strategically target and attract new business across multiple market segments.
* Knowledge of hotel sales processes, conference and banqueting operations, and competitor analysis.
* Organizational skills to manage reports, client communication, and promotional campaigns.
* Flexibility to attend events, sales trips, and PR opportunities.
* Competence in managing websites, databases, and client communications.
