The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor / Commercial Manager, you'll play a hands-on leadership role managing costs and contracts from estimation through to final account. Working closely with project managers and key stakeholders, you'll ensure commercial success across all projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare detailed cost plans and manage project budgets effectively
* Oversee procurement processes, tendering, and subcontractor agreements
* Deliver accurate reporting and financial forecasting throughout project lifecycles
* Ensure full compliance with company procedures and industry standards
* Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders across all project stages
* Manage and mentor quantity surveying team members
* Contribute to estimating and cost planning for new project opportunities
Essential Requirements
Experience:
* 15+ years' experience working with a building contractor
* Proven experience managing small teams of Quantity Surveyors
* Demonstrated ability in estimating and full-cycle quantity surveying
* Strong track record of commercial management on construction projects
Skills:
* Strong commercial acumen and negotiation abilities
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
* Proficiency with quantity surveying software (Conquest, Buildsoft, Cubit, Procore, or similar)
* Comprehensive understanding of construction contracts and procurement
Location:
* Ideally based within 30 minutes of Walkinstown
Work Authorization:
* Full right to work in Ireland (required)
