Ireland | Senior Leadership Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Director of Environmental & Planning to join a leading multidisciplinary consultancy delivering major infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Ireland and internationally.
This is a strategic leadership role, offering the chance to shape and grow a high-performing division while working at the forefront of sustainable infrastructure delivery.
The Role
As Director, you will lead both the strategic growth and technical excellence of the Environmental & Planning function, working closely with engineering and project delivery teams to deliver integrated, high-impact solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
Defining and executing the long-term strategy for Environmental & Planning services
Identifying new market opportunities and securing major frameworks and key client relationships
Leading engagement with regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders
Taking full responsibility for financial performance, forecasting, and operational delivery
Overseeing delivery of complex EIARs and planning strategies, ensuring high technical and legal standards
Collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to support integrated project delivery
Leading senior client relationships, negotiations, and strategic partnerships
Driving team growth, recruitment, and staff development frameworks
Fostering a culture of technical excellence, mentorship, and continuous improvement
About You
15+ years’ experience in environmental and planning consultancy, with strong leadership exposure
Degree qualified in Environmental Science, Planning, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred)
Chartered status with a recognised professional body (e.g. IPI, MRTPI, IEMA, CIWEM or equivalent)
Deep understanding of the Irish and/or UK planning systems, EU environmental legislation, and infrastructure delivery
Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams and manage complex stakeholder environments
Strong commercial acumen with experience driving business growth and performance
