Job Description
The Senior Network Engineer/Lead is responsible for designing and implementing solutions for a dynamic, growing global network. You will contribute to a secure and reliable network hosted across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, with exposure to Azure and AWS cloud tenants. You will design and manage local and wide area networks to maximize uptime for users.
Reporting To: The Director, IT, Infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Design and Architect Networks
* Develop secure, scalable, and highly available network architectures using VPNs, VPCs, virtual networks, and load balancers
* Cloud Network Management — Provision, configure, and manage cloud-based network resources across AWS, Azure, and Cisco Meraki
* Network Security Implementation — Enforce robust security measures including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, encryption, and compliance with industry standards
* Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting — Monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and optimize for stability and efficiency
* Hybrid Network Integration — Connect cloud environments with on-premises infrastructure securely (VPNs)
* Automation and Scripting — Use automation tools and scripting languages to streamline operations
* Disaster Recovery and Continuity Planning — Manage backups, DR protocols, and business continuity for network systems
* Documentation and Compliance — Maintain up-to-date documentation of configurations and procedures
* Stakeholder Communication and Collaboration — Provide clear updates on incidents, maintenance, and project progress
* Continuous Learning and Innovation — Stay current with emerging technologies and recommend improvements
Qualifications
You Have:
* Bachelor's/Associate degree in computer engineering or computer science
* Demonstrable experience in a professional IT environment with exposure to network and security engineering
* Understanding of network fundamentals, protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLAN, WAN, MPLS, DNS, DHCP, IPSEC, TLS, NAT, PAT, VPN, BGP, OSPF)
* 3+ years in an L2 IT Support capacity
* Good knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, Layer-3 devices, APs, specifically with Cisco (Meraki), Palo Alto, and/or Forti
* Implementing & administering Wi-Fi
* Microsoft Server 2008 R2 – 2019
* Terminal Services
* Active Directory / DNS / Group Policy
* VMware vSphere 6.5+
* SAN systems (HPE 3par experience preferred)
Preferred
* Cisco CCNA & CCNP and/or relevant Azure/AWS accreditations such as MCSE, MCTIP, VCP, AZ-100 to 104, AZ-900, AWS Practitioner, SysOps & Solutions Architect
* Demonstrable experience with cloud-based networking (AWS/Azure)
* ITIL Certification is an asset
