Senior Staff Engineer
This is a technical leadership role within the manufacturing process.
The successful candidate will work across many highly technical disciplines, including automated manufacturing, robotics, thermal coatings, automated inspection, and process improvement.
The role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, solve complex problems, and drive technical excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a detailed understanding of best practice in product and process performance within the industry.
* Build a support network of key leaders, academics, and suppliers to enhance understanding of product manufacture and quality.
* Drive high levels of employee engagement through an effective support structure implemented for all engineers.
* Develop technical solutions to complex problems that require in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
* Develop system-level design strategy.
* Potentially lead the design, development, testing, and refinement of a system, sub-system, or component.
* Recommend changes to procedures.
* Serve as a technical advisor to engineering personnel.
Requirements:
* Level 8 Honours Degree in an engineering discipline.
* 6+ years of manufacturing experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Advanced degree (Master's, Black Belt, or Ph D).
* Experience in thermal spray coatings, related deposition technologies, or materials science.
* Excellent communication and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
* Capability to technically lead a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced, dynamic, and results-motivated environment.
* Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills, process-improvement orientation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
* Technological expert willing to source, investigate, and implement technology and automation advances.
* Confident and effective decision maker, with proven technical leadership ability to negotiate and influence others.
