About the Role
The Deputy General Manager plays a pivotal leadership role in the overall operation and guest experience at The Grace Westport Estate. Acting as second-in-command to the General Manager, the Deputy General Manager ensures smooth daily operations, enforces brand standards, and fosters a culture of excellence across departments.
Principle Responsibilities
* Assume full accountability for the day-to-day operations of the hotel, ensuring that all Heads of Department manage their respective functions with maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
* Conduct regular audits across all service areas and lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve guest satisfaction, cost control, and operational efficiency.
* Collaborate with the General Manager to overlook rostering to achieve agreed KPIs
* Communicate daily revenue targets and collaborate with teams on strategies for achievement.
* Participate in weekly Revenue and Sales Meetings as required, focusing on room business levels, forecasting, advertising, and yield management.
* Fulfil legal obligations under the Health, Safety & Welfare at Work Act 1989 and subsequent applicable legislation.
* Actively support and contribute to the hotel's sales efforts in collaboration with the Sales & Marketing Team, seeking new business opportunities and ensuring optimal promotion of hotel offerings.
* Serve as a role model in the delivery of the 'Hospitality First' program, ensuring all team members are trained and understand their responsibilities in providing exceptional service.
* Ensure that all Heads of Department implement relevant training programs, maintain up-to-date training records, and follow through on team development plans.
* Remain informed of industry trends, service innovations, and equipment developments through industry literature and competitor analysis.

Required Experience & Skills
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role of progressive leadership in luxury hotel operations.
* Strong interpersonal, leadership, and analytical skills.
* Familiarity with PMS systems, preferably Opera Cloud, POS and revenue management systems.
* Display excellent knowledge of budget forecasting and SOP development.
* Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
* Eligibility to work in Ireland.
