We are currently recruiting for Senior House Officer (SHO) positions across the following specialties:
Oncology
Surgery
Cardiology
Orthopaedics
Medical/Surgical (Rotational Posts)
Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day clinical management of patients under the supervision of the Consultant and Registrar.
Participate in ward rounds, patient reviews, and handovers, ensuring accurate assessment and documentation.
Order and interpret diagnostic investigations (e.g. blood tests, radiology) in line with clinical plans.
Prescribe medications and manage patient care in accordance with hospital policies and clinical guidelines.
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (Meditech) and elevate clinical concerns appropriately.
Respond effectively to clinical emergencies and adverse events, ensuring patient safety at all times.
Contribute to quality improvement, risk management, and compliance with infection control, health & safety, and hospital policies.
Participate in the on-call rota, including weekends, nights, and public holidays, demonstrating flexibility in service delivery.
Support education and training, including teaching medical students and interns, contributing to MDT learning, and engaging in continuous professional development.
Requirements
Hold a Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Maintain current registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC).
Be eligible for an appropriate employment permit to work in an Irish private hospital setting.
Demonstrate experience working in an acute hospital environment.
Hold valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Hold valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Show a strong commitment to evidence-based practice and clinical effectiveness.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT).
Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Exhibit a high level of flexibility and adaptability, ensuring efficient service delivery in line with hospital requirements.
