We are seeking an Electrical Site Engineer to join our Civil Engineering M&E department. Reporting directly to the Head of M&E, this role will be based full-time in the Republic of Ireland, initially on the Finglas–Ballymun to Dublin city centre Bus and Cycle Lane project.
This position offers scope for progression within the department for the right candidate.
The successful applicant will oversee the identification, diversion, installation, and integration of electrical systems within a major civil engineering project, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and safety regulations. The role requires a strong technical background alongside practical site management and problem-solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
* Design Review & Implementation: Verify designs and oversee the installation of electrical systems (lighting, power distribution, control systems, etc.) in line with project requirements.
* Network Coordination: Liaise with utility providers on disconnections, diversions, outages, and new connections.
* Construction Supervision: Manage electrical contractors, ensuring work meets programme, budget, and quality standards.
* Safety & Compliance: Enforce ROI safety regulations relating to electrical works on site.
* Problem-Solving: Resolve technical issues that arise during installation.
* Quality Assurance: Carry out inspections, audits, and compliance checks.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, clients, and utility operators to ensure seamless delivery.
Typical Tasks
* Conduct site surveys and establish electrical infrastructure.
* Interpret and implement civil and electrical engineering drawings.
* Assist with procurement of electrical materials and equipment.
* Monitor installation progress, report deviations, and implement corrective actions.
