Turner Lovell is partnering with a highly successful electrical power engineering services company to source an LV Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in Co. Louth. This business has a track record in delivering specialist switchgear, transmission equipment, and renewables projects across Ireland, the UK, and several countries in Europe.
Role Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate with clients, analyze design documentation, and identify scope gaps.
2. Develop electrical plans and specifications for projects.
3. Develop project scope, budget, and technical submittals.
4. Analyze customer's Single Line Diagrams (SLD), specifications, BOMs, site layouts, and purchase orders related to low-voltage distribution, switchboards (MDB/SDB), and DC systems.
5. Perform electrical calculations such as load analysis, arc flash, short circuit, busbar sizing, and protection settings.
6. Prepare discrimination study reports and cable schedules per IEC standards.
7. Design cable routes, layouts, and perform related calculations.
8. Design lighting, communication, fire alarm, and security systems.
9. Prepare and modify equipment specifications.
10. Generate material take-offs and requisitions.
11. Create detailed drawings based on IEC, UL, and CSA standards, including physical layouts and control schematics.
12. Manage submittals, track procurement, and verify equipment receipt.
Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in designing low-voltage distribution systems, switchboards, and DC systems is required. Proficiency with electrical design software such as Eplan, Etap, AutoCAD, Siemens SIMARIS, Schneider EcoStruxure, and ABB e-Design is essential. Knowledge of IEC standards including IEC 60364, IEC 61439, IEC 61140, IEC 60479 series, and IEC 61201 is also necessary.
