OverviewPlatform Engineer, Dublin, Contract. Our team is building resilient, secure, and scalable cloud platforms that support the next generation of digital financial applications. We are looking for a Platform Engineer with hands-on experience in AWS infrastructure to help build and support our cloud-native environments. You will work as a key contributor within the cloud platform team, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and secure delivery pipelines. You’ll collaborate with engineering, security, and operations teams to deliver well-architected solutions aligned with industry best practices. The Cloud and Data Center Services Team designs, builds, and maintains PaaS environments spanning multiple cloud providers to deliver innovative platforms for faster time-to-market and reduced complexity. You will participate in a high-quality, customer-focused engineering culture with emphasis on security and resiliency and have opportunities to influence the evolution of next-generation Cloud services for our client.
ResponsibilitiesDesign, build, and maintain scalable platform infrastructure in AWS to support business-critical applications with high availability and security requirements.Partner with software engineers, SREs, and security teams to implement automation around deployment, observability, and compliance.Identify opportunities to automate toil and triage issues to improve operational stability.Champion DevSecOps practices by integrating security controls into the platform lifecycle.Contribute to design of highly available systems resilient to cloud-native failure modes.Provide technical mentorship and guidance to other platform engineers and cross-functional teams.Stay informed on emerging technologies and recommend adoption or enhancement where appropriate.Qualifications (Preferred)7+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, including 3+ years with AWS.Experience designing production-grade cloud infrastructure in regulated environments.Deep understanding of cloud security, networking, identity and access management, and governance within AWS.Proficiency in a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Shell).Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows.Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.Experience with multi-account cloud architecture, landing zones, or control tower setups.Familiarity with zero-trust architecture, data encryption, and key management systems (KMS).Strong proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform) to build cloud infrastructure and automate deployments.Experience in financial services, fintech, or other regulated industries.Hands-on experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration platforms (e.g., EKS/Kubernetes).Advanced networking knowledge (firewalls, DNS, Load Balancing, Proxies).Experience with monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, Dynatrace) and AWS native tools.Experience optimizing cost and performance across large-scale cloud environments.Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in cloud engineering communities.
