The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Commissioning Engineer (or Commissioning Manager if senior) to join our clients' grid connection projects across Ireland. Their Transmission & Distribution team is currently delivering a range of renewable energy and healthcare facilities projects.
Our client is a well-established electrical engineering contractor offering design, installation, and commissioning services across Ireland, the UK, Europe, and the Middle East. They are a trusted full-service provider to world-renowned brand names in the Pharmaceutical, Data Centre, Utilities, Oil, Gas & Chemicals, Food & Beverage, Transport, and other industry sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage project commissioning for grid connection projects.
* Inspect all installation works against the agreed quality plan.
* Lead commissioning and qualification (C&Q) activities on site.
* Prepare C&Q plans in line with client goals, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
* Develop and execute C&Q lifecycle protocols to meet project requirements.
* Lead and support site acceptance tests (SATs).
* Support and represent the technical quality team in meetings, troubleshooting exercises, and audits.
Key Requirements:
* Electrical trade or engineering qualification.
* 5+ years' experience in commissioning roles (or similar).
* Proven experience in High Voltage (HV) projects.
* Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
* Awareness of engineering processes and industry best practices.
* Excellent time management skills.
* Self-starter with strong decision-making abilities.
Desirable (Not Essential)
* Formal Health & Safety qualifications/training (e.g. IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent).
