Legionella Consultant
Chemical Industry Client | Limerick
EHS International is currently supporting a leading organisation within the chemical industry to appoint an experienced Legionella Consultant for a key site in Limerick.
This role offers an excellent opportunity to work within a high hazard, highly regulated environment where water safety, compliance and technical expertise are critical to operational performance and employee protection.
The Role
The successful candidate will provide specialist Legionella and water hygiene support, ensuring full compliance with Irish legislation, industry standards and best practice. You will work closely with site leadership, maintenance teams and external stakeholders to assess risk, implement controls and drive continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Conducting Legionella risk assessments across complex water systems
* Developing and reviewing written schemes of control
* Advising on control measures, remedial actions and system upgrades
* Reviewing monitoring programmes, sampling results and trend data
* Supporting audits, inspections and regulatory compliance activities
* Providing technical guidance and training to site personnel
* Preparing clear, professional reports and client documentation
About You
You will be a competent and confident water safety professional with experience operating in industrial or chemical environments.
The ideal candidate will have:
* Proven experience delivering Legionella risk assessments and consultancy services
* Strong knowledge of Irish Legionella legislation and guidance
* A background in chemical, pharmaceutical or high risk industrial settings
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* Strong reporting and organisational capability
* A proactive, solutions focused approach to risk management
Relevant qualifications in Legionella control, water hygiene or environmental health are essential.
