Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Philanthropy Manager to develop and lead our fundraising strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong relationships with donors, coordinating fundraising campaigns, and growing our base of unrestricted income.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with sensitivity and discretion in relation to vulnerable groups. Strong organisational and planning skills are also essential, as is familiarity with GDPR and data protection in relation to donor management.
Key Responsibilities:
* Implement a comprehensive fundraising plan aligned with our values and needs
* Conduct a review of past fundraising efforts and recommend improvements
* Identify new funding opportunities including individual giving, community fundraising, corporate partnerships, and legacy giving
* Build and maintain relationships with donors, supporters, and key stakeholders
* Create and maintain a donor database/CRM to track interactions and outcomes
* Plan and execute ethical fundraising campaigns and events, ensuring they are aligned with our approach
* Develop/update content for our website, newsletters, and social media that is sensitive, respectful, and aligned with trauma-informed principles
Person Specification:
* Proven experience in fundraising, donor development, or similar roles
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated ability to work with sensitivity and discretion in relation to vulnerable groups and trauma-related subject matter
* Strong organisational and planning skills
* Familiarity with GDPR and data protection in relation to donor management
