Our client, a multinational company, based in Dublin, are currently looking for a Deputy Engineering Manager for their growing business.
Accountabilities:
Act as site technical authority: provide immediate technical direction and make disposition/repair decisions for complex jobs.
Acts as the final technical decision maker for repairs in scope within delegated limits, escalating regulatory, strategic or commercial issues to the Engineering Manager.
Author, review and maintain repair instructions, engineering work packs, technical bulletins and troubleshooting guides.
Provide hands‑on support and technical coaching to technicians during teardown, inspection, assessment and reassembly.
Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions and technical investigations for quality and warranty issues.
Specify, qualify and manage special processes and outside suppliers/vendors.
Ensure technical compliance of repairs with governing documentation and regulatory/customer requirements.
Make timely technical decisions on the shop floor and escalate systemic or strategic issues to the Engineering Manager.
Support quality and warranty review meetings with technical expertise; respond promptly to warranty and quality escalations with direction and disposition.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering or equivalent; relevant technical certifications are advantageous.
Aviation experience from Part 145 organisation is essential.
Extensive direct shop‑floor experience in teardown, inspection, assessment and reassembly of engine components or engine accessories.
Proven authorship/ownership of repair instructions, engineering work packs or troubleshooting documentation.
Hands‑on experience with special processes (NDT, heat treatment, plating, machining).
Demonstrated troubleshooting, RCA and operational decision‑making experience in an MRO or repair‑station setting.
Practical familiarity with IAA, FAA, EASA or equivalent regulatory requirements (Part‑145) is required.
Eligibility to work in Ireland and ability to meet site security/clearance requirements.
