Job Description
AECOM is recruiting for a Principal Structural Engineer to join our Dublin office.
This role offers an exceptional opportunity for an experienced structural engineer with a proven track record in project delivery and assessment of existing structures.
Focus sectors include healthcare, data centres, commercial, hospitality, education and civic projects for public and private clients.
What you'll do
Effectively control the commercial, managerial and technical aspects of projects or parts of projects for which you are responsible.
Sourcing opportunities and preparing fee proposals for submission to clients, including resources and programme.
Lead a team of engineers and technicians designing building infrastructure schemes.
Requirements
Excellent knowledge of standard engineering practices, techniques, procedures and structural principles.
Undertake structural engineering projects, performing analyses and calculations as appropriate.
Supervise work, ensuring that it is carried out to the appropriate technical standard and that it is managed to programme and budget.
Deliver design solutions and assessment calculations, lead teams, and successfully manage projects.
Have a solid track record of having worked on various structures projects, possibly as project leader on some, with experience of dealing directly with clients.
Specific Requirements
Excellent knowledge of design in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steelwork.
Excellent working knowledge of the current Eurocodes and specifically Eurocode 2 & Eurocode 3.
Excellent working knowledge of Structural Analysis Software such as SCIA, TEKLA or similar.
Experience in the assessment of existing structures and their justification, as well as new build designs.
The ability to effectively communicate your message to the team, senior management and represent AECOM professionally to clients and external bodies.
Qualifications
Degree qualified (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline.
Chartered Engineer (CEng).
Member of either the Institution of Structural Engineers (MIStructE) and/or the Institution of Civil Engineers (MICE).
Desirable attributes
Knowledge and experience of the local Dublin marketplace.
