Clinical Placement Co-ordinator Role
The role of Clinical Placement Co-ordinator involves advising, encouraging, supporting and facilitating nursing students' learning through various means. The incumbent will report to the Nurse Practice Development Coordinator and be professionally accountable to the Director of Nursing.
Key Responsibilities:
* Advise and support nursing students in their clinical practice.
* Create a climate that values and supports nursing students.
* Assist nursing students to adapt to the clinical environment with orientation programmes and reflective practice.
* Provide guidance to Students and Preceptors/Registered Nurses on issues relating to students' clinical practice.
* Respond to educational needs within the hospital in collaboration with Senior Nurse Management, Clinical Nurse Managers, and Nurse Practice Development Coordinator.
* Assess, plan, organise, supervise, evaluate, and monitor quality nursing standards and foster advanced evidence-based clinical practice.
Eligibility Criteria:
* Be registered on the General Division of the register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be entitled to be so registered.
* Possess a 3rd Level qualification at level 8 (ordinary degree) or higher.
* Have at least 5 years post-registration experience, including 2 years in a student learning environment.
